A free invoice generator, built the way we wanted it.
Easy Invoice Generator exists because every other "free" invoice tool we tried demanded an email, dropped analytics cookies, stored our client list on their server, and upsold us to a paid plan within a week. We wanted something simpler, faster, and private by default. So we built it.
The three principles
1. Your data stays on your device.
Every invoice, every client, every preference is stored locally on your device in a private browser storage area. There is no backend database. We never see a single line item. The only time anything leaves your device is when you click "Download PDF" — and that request is stateless: our rendering service produces the PDF on demand and forgets it the instant the response is sent.
2. Free means free — not "free tier".
There is no trial, no paywall, no upgrade prompt, no "premium" tier, and no plan to nag you into. The core editor, the live preview, the client manager, the PDF download — everything a freelancer needs to bill a client — is free forever. We have nothing to sell you because selling was not the reason we built this.
3. No friction before value.
You should be able to create an invoice before you are asked to create an account. We put this in the strongest form possible: there is no account. No signup, no email, no password, no onboarding wizard, no "first, tell us about yourself". Open the site, click Start creating, type your invoice, download the PDF.
Who this is for
Freelancers, contractors, consultants, designers, developers, photographers, translators, and small business owners who need to bill a client quickly and would rather not hand their billing data to a SaaS they have never heard of. If you have ever opened an "invoice generator" tab, bounced off the signup wall, and fallen back to a Word template — this is for you.
How we stay sustainable
We keep the app tiny and run it on minimal infrastructure. We do not need to grow at venture speed because we do not have investors to pay back. If traffic ever exceeds what we can comfortably support for free, we will add an optional donation or a paid "supporter" tier — but the core product will stay free and private forever, in that exact order.
What we will not do
No accounts. We will never add a signup wall, a login form, or a "verify your email to continue" step. If you want to use the editor, you already can.
No tracking cookies. No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no behavioural advertising scripts, no cross-site trackers. Anything we measure is aggregate traffic only, and never tied to an individual visitor.
No server-side invoice data. Your invoices, clients, and settings stay on your device. The only request that ever leaves your browser is the stateless PDF render — and it forgets the payload the moment the response is sent.
No dark patterns. No upsells, no paywalls disguised as "free plans", no nag modals, no email list you did not ask for. The product you see is the whole product.
